Hi, I'm Carrie — Your Milestone Architect
Celebrant, planner, native Alaskan, and lifelong believer in marking the moments that matter.
MY STORY
Every meaningful moment in life deserves to be honored — not by tradition alone, but by truth. I created All Things Joyful from a deeply personal belief: that the milestones of our lives — weddings, baby welcomes, memorials, retirements, anniversaries, and rites of passage — are far too important to be left to scripts that don't sound like us.
My name is Carrie, and I am a Humanist Celebrant and Milestone Architect. I didn't arrive at this work through one defining moment. Instead, it found me gradually — through years of sitting with people in the fullness of their stories.
Over time, I came to understand that there was a space — wide and waiting — for someone who could listen with real care and then craft an experience that honored what was actually true about a person, a relationship, a life.
That is what All Things Joyful is. It is my work of creating bespoke ceremonies and milestone experiences that reflect each person's unique story, values, and relationships.
"I architect each experience from scratch, with the people it belongs to at the center of every decision."
The name All Things Joyful is both my mission and my philosophy. Joy, as I see it, is not just a fleeting feeling. It is a practice. A lens. A way of moving through life's passages with presence and celebration.
Everything I do is rooted in my humanist values: dignity, compassion, connection, and the celebration of this one beautiful life.
I serve communities in Michigan and Alaska — two landscapes that could not be more different and yet share something essential: a raw, breathtaking beauty that reminds us how extraordinary it is simply to be here.
What makes All Things Joyful different is this: it is not a service. It is a partnership.
All Things Joyful is my life's work — built on the belief that every person deserves a celebration as unique as they are.
My Mission & Values
Mission Statement
I create deeply personal, secular ceremonies and milestone experiences that honor the beauty, dignity, and joy of every human story.
Joy as Practice
I believe joy is not accidental. It is cultivated, protected, and shared — especially in life's most meaningful moments.
Radical Personalization
No templates. No scripts. Every ceremony is built from the ground up around the people it celebrates.
Secular & Inclusive
I honor all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities. My ceremonies belong to the people in the room, not to any institution.
Humanist at Heart
I celebrate this life, these relationships, this moment. Dignity, compassion, and authenticity guide everything I do.
Warmth Without Compromise
Professional, polished, and deeply warm. I hold space with care and deliver with excellence.
What Is Humanism?
Humanism is a non-religious approach to life, grounded in human values, empathy, and the belief that meaning comes from within — not from doctrine.
"Humanist ceremonies celebrate human connection, not doctrine."
